Wild About Cornworthy (WAC)

WAC has been busy in the last few months working on several initiatives:
The campaign to push the Council to provide blister pack recycling is ongoing-We have the support of our MP , Caroline Voaden and our new Councillor- Simon Rake – and the Totnes Times.
We will continue campaigning until we succeed.In the meantime we have placed a small bin in the Egg / newspaper shed – courtesy of Rebecca – into which empty blister packs can be deposited for recycling. Volunteers will be required to take them to Superdrug in Torquay or Newton abbot where they can be recycled.

WAC are about to re-publish and distribute a booklet called Gardening for Wildlife which will be free to all households in Cornworthy – thanks to various sponsors.

A small group of WAC supporters are developing a way to report and map wildlife sightings – more news on this soon.

WAC is seeking to encourage the building and placing of bird boxes in the Parish and will demonstrating sone simple construction models at the Pig Roast on 28th June
