Water quality testing programme and News from the Riverbank

June 17th, 2024
We are delighted to welcome Kit Cregan onboard the good ship Friends of the Dart. Kit joins us as our water testing technician. He will be out at the river bank taking samples to identify bacterial content along with chemicals from human sewage in the river along with helping to share this information with you. If you see him out and about, don’t be shy, he is a wealth of information and a very welcome addition to the team.

“I have recently graduated with a BSc in Marine Geography from Cardiff University. As a regular surfer and lifeguard, I am keen to facilitate the safe use of all bathing waters. Growing up in Totnes has meant that I have always interacted with the River Dart and the communities along its length. I am passionate about long-term environmental sustainability and want to positively impact the natural world.”

This role is part funded by the kind support of the Nature Save trust and Devon Environment foundation.
