We have now raised the money for the restoration of the bells and indeed the work is now complete, the bells will be collected next week. Our first performance since their refurb will be at Apple Day. We are also playing this weekend at the Harvest Festival with our borrowed bells.
A big thanks needs to go to all in the village who have supported the restoration as well as to the WI ladies, parish and local councils, the sustainable community locality fund, St Peter’s Church council, The Village Hall Committee and The Hunters Lodge.
Our group is open to anyone wanting to give this unique instrument a try! It is a great team activity open to beginners, you don’t even need to be able to read music to play. At the moment we practice weekly on a Thursday at 4:00pm in the church.
